We advocate the disaster nursing should be placed in the basic nursing curriculum. We understood the fundamental nursing elements are present in the disaster nursing. Therefore, the knowledge and skill of nursing are needed to be well integrated in teaching of the disaster nursing. We propose the core contents of the Disaster nursing should include: |
| ・Proposed materials in"Introduction to Disasters. ・Emotional aspects and stress on Caregivers during Disaster ・Support on daily lire events including hygienic aspects. ・Community health aspects in mass casualty and temporary housing situation. ・Long term influence of disaster ・Different system and approach necessary from ordinary time ・Ability to initiate the action ・Ethical issues related to disaster |
| We stress the importance of continuing education should be
in focus parallel to basic education. We acknowledge that the continual education may be provided through effort of NGO/NPO organizations, including JNA, JICA, and others as well as endorsed organizations/projects from government.
